Candace Irving does not disappoint in book 2 of the Deception Point series. Another page turner that kept me coming back for more.

Sat on the edge of my seat in suspense while trying to avoid skim reading so I'd get the nuances. My brain wanted to fast forward the action.

Good Read
A great story, and I liked how everyone and everything related to previous books and what happened in them. Action packed and fast paced. It is a quick and easy read, that�s sure to keep you reading as much as you can before putting it down. I can�t wait to read the next book in the series when it�s released.

This book really draws you in. TIme ceased when I was reading it, I didn�t know what time of the day it was, I would suddenly realise I was hungry and look at the clock to find it was an hour after dinner time. Excellent story, a edge of the seat page turner.

The story is intense. The characters are phenomenal. The military knowledge that went into this series is eye-opening. I hope Mira and Sam end up together soon. Hopefully, the next book will include Regan and John, too.

Agent Mira is now NCIS agent after something in her past made her decide to leave the Navy. Now her past and present are colliding in a case she doesn't know who to suspect or who she can trust. This could be as bad or worse than 9/11 if it isn't resolved soon. How will it all turn out and who will succeed in solving the case. Who will the traitors be? you might be surprised, I was. The only think I didn't like in my review copy was the profanity.

This can be read as a stand-alone book even though this is book 4 in a series as this book starts the story line arc for US Navy/NCIS Special Agent Mira Ellis and her new partner; undercover? NCIS? ex? Navy SEAL/ ex? Military Intelligence special agent, Sam Riyad.
From the moment they meet, there is suspicion on both sides. Sam has confidential information about Mira's past and makes snap judgements about her trust worthiness. Mira is dealing with a case that merges her past and present and Sam's questionable people skills and lack of investigative skills for an NCIS agent raises a lot of red flags in Mira's mind about who he is and who he is working for. With information not being released to Mira directly, Mira relies on her investigative skills and her own connections to chase the information which results in a great story. This is a thriller that delivers. I was engaged with the story line and the characters. A great read. 5 stars. I look forward to reading the next book in this series as there are still loose ends to chase before this case is wrapped up and the working partnership between Mira and Sam is about to get personal.
Another thrilling novel , full of action and twisted plot turns!
Chokepoint ,book 3 in the Deception Point Military Dectective Thriller series by Candice Irving, continues the mystery begun in Blind Edge. This story is full of suspense and edge of the seat action. I am impressed with the characters. Mira, Sam, and Mira's brother seemed so real! I spent a lot of time and energy trying to figure out who to trust. I often found myself yelling at Mira not to trust Sam Riyad. I found it frustrating that she would not answer me! Mira, like Reagan Chase from Blind Edge, is one of the strongest female protagonists I have ever met. She is intelligent, intuitive, and creative. I was intrigued by how her mind worked.
I was also impressed with Candace Irving's military knowledge, how she was able to weave this into her plot. Her plot twists were phenomenal. I could not figure out who to trust and was not surprised when Mira was also struggling. I would never have predicted the ending. Very well written. I can't wait to read more.
Candace Irving is a former Navy officer who has written a number of books that share a lot of her military experiences within her stories. Her Deception Point series has followed the action filled adventures of CID special agent Regan Chase. With her fourth book in this series, Chokepoint, we are introduced to Mira Ellis, who is also a CID special agent and a good friend of Regan. Candace has outdone herself with this book. There is so much suspense, action, intrigue and emotion packed into this story, it is impossible to stop reading because you want to find out what happens next. All of the women in Candace�s books are very strong and independent, but they have their flaws and vulnerabilities that they are trying to deal with and overcome. The character development and detailed descriptions of Mira make her a woman that I would personally like to meet.
There is a lot of action going on which is so well described that the visualizations are easy to see. I appreciate that the characters are not invincible like you find in so many books. They are all human with human failings, which makes them more believable. In addition to all the action, there is some romance included to keep you wondering what will happen in the future. There will definitely be more to learn of the relationship between Mira and Sam Riyad. Candace has also included interactions between Mira and Regan, which helps tie in previous stories in the Deception Point series.
Chokepoint is an amazingly well written story. Probably Candace Irving�s best so far, in my opinion. I look forward to the next in this series, as well as her Hidden Valor Military Suspense series. Be sure to check these out as well.
Candace has outdone herself again! Mira goes through an awful lot. How much misery can one person take? A lot, evidently. Family details come to light about several people. All very intriguing. She did a cliffhanger at the end! ARRRRGGGGHH! She better be almost finished with the next Mira book, because I want to know what is going to happen next!!!!!!!
Really love this series. Regan is a very smart and determined investigator, and with all the twists in this plot she has to go really deep. A must-read!

A well written extremely exciting story. Lots of different characters, and lots of twists and turns, fast action from start to finish, with a surprising ending.
I finished reading this book last week but I couldn't write a review right away, I just couldn't coz what can you say about a book that is so fabulous written and the story is so well thought out, it's just supurb, I can't wait until the next one.
